The Research Center on Cognitive Sciences of the Faculty of Psychology was awarded a project nominated for the Contest to Support the Formation of International Networks between Research Centers 2017. This project is entitled “Research network between Chile, the Netherlands, and Poland on situated cognition and complex dynamic systems”. It is an initiative developed by Ramón D. Castillo (Universidad de Talca) and Anna Włodarczyk (Universidad Católica del Norte); Ralf Cox, Ruud den Hartigh, and Marijn van Dijk (University of Groningen); in conjunction with Katarzyna Hamer and Joanna Rączaszek-Leonardi (Institute of Psychology at Polish Academy of Science).
The main objective of this network is to develop theoretical models and experimental strategies to address problems in the field of reasoning, language and social cognition by incorporating ideas and principles derived from situated cognition and complex dynamic systems theories. The project was implemented between November 2017 and November 2019. A series of meetings and workshops in Chile with researchers and undergraduate and graduate students were conducted, as well as short research stays in Chile, the Netherlands and Poland.
